This past week featured eight hour sessions with the management and shop floor employees.  On Monday and Tuesday, classes were held all day for two different groups of first shift employees.  Wednesday was the second shift's turn and the week was completed with the third shift on Thursday/Friday (11:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.).  The theme of the event was based on our Quality Policy - SQDCM (improve Safety, improve Quality, improve Delivery, reduce Cost and improve Morale).

  • Five separate hour long classes were led by the following people:
    • SAFETY in the workplace - Phyllis Felsinger - Safety Connections
    • QUALITY of revised handbook - Mark DeAmico - Operations Manager - Dutchland
    • DELIVERY of revised handbook - Lindee Claerbout - Human Resources Director - Dutchland
    • COST of new group insurance plan - Julie Meyer - Maritime Insurance
    • MORALE of employees at Dutchland - April Buechel - Human Resources Specialist - Dutchland

All four days were highlighted by employees feedback of how they enjoyed working with other Dutchland employees whom they had never met before.  Other employee comments included they wanted more hands-on events in the future and they appreciated Carl and Daven addressing their groups.

The following photos include some of the classrooms, activities and Carl Claerbout (President) addressing one of the groups.

We are nearing completion on our latest building project. When completed, we will have added 88,000 sq. ft. to our existing 80,000 sq. ft. facility located on the east side of town - visible from Interstate 43 (exit 116).

This addition will give us the room that we need to expand our manufacturing process. It will be home to two more Ferry 430 rotational machines and also a Rock 'n Roll machine. Our turnkey assembly lines for several customers will be relocated here (from a rented warehouse in Oostburg).

For the first time in its company history, Dutchland will have a location 'outside' the friendly confines of Oostburg, WI. A third plant will be located in Sherrill, NY and tentatively will be engaged in production in the spring of 2008. Further updates on this new plant will be appearing soon on this website.
